Established in 2001, Bakhtar Development Network (BDN Global) is a leading local NGO in Afghanistan that has pledged to invest in communities at the grassroots level so they are empowered to succeed in their development process and escape poverty.

Our work touches the lives of an estimated 3.5 million people through BDNs community trained members that are contributing change makers in 58 districts of Afghanistan through community based healthcare services, women empowerment, community development by improving living conditions and educational advancement.  In 2011 Bakhtar Development Network Global Suisse (BDN Global Suisse) was registered in Geneva Switzerland, as the European representative office. BDN Global Suisse aims at:

  • Improving the quality of services through improvement of afghan professional’s knowledge.
  • Raising adequate funds for integrated community development initiatives
  • Advocating for rights of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.

In 2014, BDN Global has been granted consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
